While at the Springwood Diner with his girlfriend, Kris Fowles (Katie Cassidy), Dean Russell (Kellan Lutz) falls asleep at the table and meets a man covered in burn scars, wearing a red and green sweater and a clawed glove on his hand. The burned man cuts Dean's throat in the dream, but in reality it appears that Dean is cutting his own throat as friend and waitress Nancy Holbrook(Rooney Mara) looks on with Kris. At Dean's funeral, Kris sees a photograph of her and Dean as children, but cannot recall ever knowing Dean before high school. Kris begins to dream about the burned man herself and refuses to go to sleep for fear that she will die in her dreams. Jesse Braun (Thomas Dekker), Kris's ex-boyfriend, shows up at her house to keep her company while she sleeps, but Kris meets the burned man in her dreams and is murdered. Covered in blood, Jesse runs to Nancy's house to try to explain what happened and he learns that Nancy has been having dreams about the same man; that man's name is Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley).

Jesse is apprehended by the police under suspicion of murdering Kris, and is killed by Krueger when he falls asleep in his jail cell. With her friends dying, Nancy begins to question what everyone's connection is to each other, given that none of them can remember each other before their teenage years. Eventually, Nancy and her friend Quentin Smith (Kyle Gallner) discover that all of them, including more children, attended the same preschool together. Nancy's mother, Gwen (Connie Britton), reluctantly tells Nancy and Quentin that there was a gardener at the preschool, Fred Krueger, who abused Nancy and the rest of the kids. Gwen explains that Nancy was his favorite, and came home one day telling her mom about a hidden space in Krueger's room and the things he did to her there. Gwen claims Krueger skipped town before he was arrested. Nancy does not believe her and attempts to track down the remaining kids from the school. Nancy eventually discovers that all of the other kids have been killed, most of them in their sleep. Meanwhile, Quentin tries to accept that his nightmares are nothing more than repressed memories, but he falls asleep during swim practice and witnesses what really happened to Krueger. Quentin sees everyone's parents hunt down Krueger, and then burn him alive.

Quentin and Nancy confront Quentin's father, Alan Smith (Clancy Brown), about the reality that they murdered Krueger with no evidence that he had committed any crime. Thus, Nancy and Quentin believe that Krueger wants revenge on them for lying as children. As result of their insomnia, Nancy and Quentin begin sporadically dreaming while they are still awake. To try and stop Krueger, they decide to go to the preschool and learn what they can.

Sinopsis Damping Malam

Mengisahkan Wadi dan isterinya Ku Khalira yang sudah 14 tahun mendirikan rumahtangga. Mereka dikurniakan seorang saja anak perempuan kini berusia 13 tahun bernama Nuraiza. Hidup mereka serba moden. Cara hidup mereka agak terbuka dan bebas. Nuraiza pula anak yang ceria, bijak, walaupun anak tunggal tetapi dia nampak matang dalam dunianya. Disebabkan ibu dan ayahnya hidup lebih mengutamakan duniawi, maka landas agama mereka agak kurang. Nuraiza diasuh oleh ibu saudara Ku Khalira yang tinggal bersama mereka yang dipanggil Umi Siah oleh Nuraiza. Umi Siah seorang yang serius tetapi nampak tenang. Seakan ada rahsia disimpan sendiri-sendiri. Umi Siah sangat menjaga Nuraiza kerana dia tahu keistimewaan yang Nuraiza ada. Ku Khalira sentiasa menjadi bualan kegemaran para wanita yang mengenalinya kerana begitu pandai menjaga rumahtangga. Ku Khalira dan Wadi selalu melakukan yang rasional dalam apa jua hal, tidak mempercayai hal mistik, tidak membimbing keluarga ke arah agama.

Kisah bermula semasa minggu orientasi Nuraiza yang berjaya masuk ke asrama penuh. Ia menjadi kebanggaan buat Wadi tetapi ada sedikit kebimbangan buat Ku Khalira yang katanya ia tidak pernah berpisah dengan anak tunggalnya itu. Ada gangguan di asrama dan sasarannya ialah Nuraiza. Selama ini Nuraiza tidak pernah melalui pengalaman menyeramkan itu, maka datang trauma dalam dirinya. Dia tidak pernah diajar dengan doa atau ayat melindungi dirinya maka Nuraiza jadi tidak menentu dan gangguan tetap berterusan bukan saja kepada dia tetapi juga kawan-kawan yang ada dekat dengannya. Di sana juga dia mengenali rakan sebilik dan sekelasnya, Hasni dan Syarifah. Dia juga mengenali seterunya yang sentiasa kurang senang dengannya iaitu Erna dan Nadia yang tua dua tahun daripadanya tetapi bilik mereka berhampiran. Nuraiza belajar mendekatkan diri dengan pendidikan Islam bersama Hasni dan Syarifah. Gangguan tetap ada. Datang pula kenakalan Erna dan Nadia yang mahu mengenakan Nuraiza, lalu mereka main seru roh guna papan ouiji, maka Nuraiza mula nampak seorang budak perempuan yang sebaya dengannya berlegar sekitar asrama.
Yang menakutkannya, budak itu sentiasa tunduk, tidak pernah nampak wajahnya dengan jelas tetapi setiap kali dia berjalan, dia akan seret kaki dan ada darah sedikit-sedikit menitik ke lantai dari tangan kanan dan kirinya. Nuraiza saja yang nampak dan ia semakin menakutkan Nuraiza sehingga membuatkan Nuraiza histeria. Bagi Erna pula itu semua lakonan dan tipu helah Nuraiza untuk tarik perhatian. Sehinggalah Erna dan Nadia sendiri diganggu tetapi dengan makhluk halus yang lebih menakutkan. Wadi dan Ku Khalira dimaklumkan, mereka datang dan bawa Nuraiza pulang untuk merawatnya. Umi Siah terlalu menjaga keselamatan Nuraiza maka tegas tidak benarkan Nuraiza ke asrama semula tetapi Wadi tidak setuju. Ku Khalira sedih dan bimbang melihatkan anaknya sudah tidak ceria seperti dahulu. Nuraiza beritahu apa yang dia nampak tetapi Wadi tidak percaya. Apabila Nuraiza sudah sembuh, dia pulang semula ke asrama dan gangguan tetap datang setiap malam dan di asrama tidak aman lagi sejak Nuraiza ada di sana.
Apabila Nuraiza tidak ada semula di rumah, rumah Wadi tidak sama seperti dulu, kesuraman terasa, ada gangguan yang Nuraiza lalu, juga menganggu penghuni rumah Wadi. Ku Khalira mengesyaki Umi Siah ada muslihat lain dan gangguan yang datang pada anaknya disebabkan niat jahat Umi Siah, kerana apabila dia beritahu suaminya, keturunan ibu saudara dan arwah ibunya iaitu Raja Sarah pernah menggunakan pendamping menjaga keluarga tetapi dia tidak pernah suka dan tidak percaya semua itu. Wadi mula mengesyaki juga Umi Siah sehingga ada insiden yang berlaku buatkan Wadi percaya Umi Siah mahu menganiaya keluarganya lalu dia menghalau Umi Siah dari rumah. Umi Siah cuba terangkan keadaan sebenar tetapi Wadi tidak mahu dengar dan tidak mahu tahu. Kemudian datang tetamu baru di rumah mereka. Uutaz Bakri ialah sahabat lama Wadi sejak dibangku sekolah. Dia baru balik dari kerjanya di Mesir. Ustaz Bakri terasa unsur negatif itu di rumah Wadi dan meminta Wadi banyakkan solat di dalam rumah dan amalan agama semula yang sudah jauh ditinggalkannya. Apabila Wadi yang sering diganggu itu, mula cuba berjinak mengenal diri kembali dalam agama Islam, amukan berlaku dan dia mula nampak apa yang selama ini dia tidak pernah nampak. Nantikan kesudahannya dalam DAMPING MALAM…

Mod (or, to use its full name, Modernism or sometimes Modism) was a lifestyle based around fashion and music that developed in London, England in the late 1950s and reached its peak in the early to mid 1960s. People who followed this lifestyle were known as Mods, and were mainly to be found in Southern England.
Mods were obsessed with clothes and music, including Black American R&B and Soul, Jamaican Ska, and Bluebeat and a select few British groups such as the Small Faces, the Kinks, The Spencer Davis Group and The Who.

 Mods would gather at all-night clubs to show off their clothes and dance. They would typically choose scooters as their mode of transportation, either the Lambretta or the Vespa. These were sometimes adorned with many lights and mirrors and were intended to gain attention.
Mods are sometimes seen as an outgrowth of the Teddy Boy movement, and the most obvious similarity might be their love of suits. However, their emphasis was more on England than the Teddy Boys, and perhaps this is part of the reason why they did not appear on a big scale in other parts of the world.
An alternative youth movement known as 'Rockers' often clashed with the Mods, leading to street battles between the two factions in seaside resorts such as Brighton and Margate. These events led to much anguished discussion about 'modern youth' in Britain during the early 1960s. The conflicts inspired Anthony Burgess's novel A Clockwork Orange in which the anti-hero is arguably a futuristic Mod. The film Quadrophenia (1979), based on the album of the same name by The Who (1973), also celebrated the movement.
Partly because of the success of this film, the mod movement enjoyed a revival during the late 1970s. Many of these later mods were fans of bands such as The Jam, The Merton Parkas, Secret Affair, and The Lambrettas, and Two Tone groups such as The Specials, The Beat, The Selecter, and Madness.
The logo of the mod movement was a stylized target. A prime example of this is the logo of British fashion designer Ben Sherman, whose clothes were and continue to be associated with the Mod movement.
The band The Jam were highly influenced musically and stylistically by mod culture as are more recent musicians Ocean Colour Scene who often collaborate with Paul Weller, and The Ordinary Boys. Mod Culture also still runs strong in the german Electronic scene: keyboard wizard Erobique and electronic singer/songwriter lotte ohm. are very obviously mods, as is Frank Popp.
Mods made up (and continue to make up) a large proportion of the Northern soul movement, a subculture based on obscure american soul records from the 60's and 70's.
